Dr. Devyani<\/strong> is a counselor by profession. She has experience of a decade in this field. As a professional, she looks at her journey and finds that it has few diversions and turns with some interesting ingredients. Actually, as a counselling Psychologist, she got her practical training first, and then she completed her theory. This might seem weird to you but you can reveal the reality while going along with her life story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Devyani was having the ambition of being a doctor. After 12th she closely missed admission to the MBBS course just by 3 marks. Then she took the BAMS course at Govt Ayurvedic College, Nanded. She practiced extensively in various fields like General Practice, Ayurvedic Practice as well as Gynaecology. Then she shifted to Nasik. Here the Yashwantrao Chavan Maharastra Open University has started a clinic. Dr Devyani was responsible in setting up this clinic. It was a very nice experience of her life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her better half got an opportunity in Pune. Both the spouses decided to shift to Pune, considering a better learning option for their child. Actually, this was a tricky situation for her. She had a well-settled semi-government job on the one hand and a child’s education and other extra curricular activities on the other. She chose what any mother could have chosen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Pune, she had delivered another child. After her child grew a little she started searching for a part-time job. She got a job in a famous Psychological institute. She joined because the afternoon timing was convenient to her. She worked in this institute for around 5 years. Here she was assigned with critical psychological cases. Since childhood, she was fond of reading. The knowledge gained from various famous authors like P.L. Deshpande , V. P. Kale, V. S.Khandekar, Jaywant Dalvi and other literature helped her in understanding people. This eventually pushed her to perceive Masters’s degree in Psychology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After completing a master’s in Psychology, she decided to utilize her knowledge and skills for herself rather than other institutes. This initiated her Psychology clinic in Kothrud. With her practical experience and her skills, her clinic was popular in a short span of time. She is associated with Shashwat Hospital as a consulting Psychologist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the period of time, she has mastered many types of counselling. It consists of pre-marriage counseling \u2013 which deals with counseling of marriage aspirants, Geriatric counseling \u2013 counseling for aging, personal counseling, career counseling, Aptitude tests, and many more. She is working on a few newer concepts that are popular in foreign but not established in India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Devyani says, \u201cThis is a science to work on the human mind, that is invisible. Hence it requires tremendous patience, skills, and interactions. You need to develop the skill to figure out what your patient’s mind is up to.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Sharing memories of her initial days Devyani told, \u201cI was not sure about patients. But I joined a few business forums. Registered on a few apps. This helped a lot. The online reviews of my patients were a medium of publicity for online sessions, which brought in new patients for me. I am associated with a polyclinic so the other patients visiting there see my name displayed on the board. Other doctors and Psychiatrists also recommend Psychological cases to me. \u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Actually when somebody advises you to see a counselor, one may tend to avoid it but when you feel that I am stuck into these thoughts, disturbed sleep, Anxiety, increased stress, feeling frustrated, self doubts etc. It’s the time to visit to a counselor. Many times just a friendly long talk can remove an ample amount of burden on a patient’s mind, called talk therapy. There are other proven therapies as well which work magically to get relief from symptoms.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Dr Devyani has referred to a case where a young girl was badly hit with a psychological disorder. She was abused in her childhood and had decided to end her life. Fortunately, her parents brought her to Dr Devyani, before she had proceeded further. Her food intake was reduced and she was not able to maintain daily routine as she was in a complete zone of negativity . In the very first session, Dr Devyani realized that it will be testing time. Afer few therapy sessions the girl’s mind started changing. After a few more weeks, with Cognitive behavior therapy she started living her normal life. Now she is totally changed and soon she is getting married.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Devyani puts forth a unique concept of a family counselor. Every person gets trapped in some or another problem sometimes in a journey of achieving his\/her goals. In such moments if he can get proper advice in time, much of the damage can be saved. Hence every family should have a family counsellor as a family doctor or family lawyer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Devyani’s clinic was on even in the Covid pandemic. She is working for free for the children whose parents were deceased by Covid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She had a few research papers and articles to her name. She received Covid Warrior award in 2020 by Rotary club of Pune Karvenagar. She is also very active on the ‘Ghe Bharari’ group on Facebook. She is a comparer for a music group. As per Dr Devyani, learning is the essence of life. Knowledge is the key to everything in life. Hence she keeps on acquiring knowledge and updating herself. That is the Mantra of her successful counselling career.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
